L is for Light and Snapshot Saturday~April 13

I have seen the Light!  The Light I’ve seen is the fact that I am forging ahead with the Blogging A to Z Challenge. Today is the letter L and my topic is Light. I’m also linking up with Snapshot Saturday started by Alyce at At Home With Books.  Be sure to visit both sites and check out what other bloggers are sharing.

As I write this, the light is just coming up through the windows on my side porch which serves as my office.  I can look through the door to my living room to see the light also coming through my leaded glass window.  I had shared a sunrise through that window in this post from January.  I love the morning light and I love to share it in photos.

However, I thought I’d share a few more photos from The Tampa Theatre to go along with the ones I shared last week.  My slow camera ( I swear I’m going to start using my new one Very Soon!)  sometimes makes it hard to get photos in low-level lighting.  In spite of that I did get some good ones.  Here are some of the lower light ones that I thought were pretty interesting.

Initially, I wasn’t that happy with these particular photos because I thought the Light wasn’t right.  As I review them with a more artistic eye, I realize that the Light was just right.

Look for the light in your day.

Happy Snapshot Saturday!

thanks for sharing your photos, fran! that first photo really shows the detail of the decor – gorgeous!
i am appreciating the light this morning…our power was out from 5:15 to 6 a.m yesterday so my normal morning routine was off…(i was lucky, some people had much much longer disruptions). and now the sky is JUST getting light! hope you have some sun today!

  2. These photos look beautiful – well done.

  3. Just dropping by – love your blog title! Your photos are very atmospheric

  4. I find myself liking photos more (that I didn’t like at first) as time goes on too. I’ll be taking lots today as we have family in town and my son is getting baptized.

  5. Your office on the side porch sounds wonderful! And thanks for sharing the “light” in the next series of shots. Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST

    • My porch is cozy though messy, Laurel. Boxes packed and things sorted to be packed. It also houses my exercise bike, which is fun…as I ride and read I can look out the windows. This time of year there are birds everywhere…distracting me from what I’m doing. Have a great week!

  6. Light is a good choice! I’m happy it’s finally getting light earlier in the morning. I hate getting up in the dark. Your photos are gorgeous!

The first one is so pretty, the detail of the theater is lovely!

  8. Your photos look like a lot of mine. It’s a rather dreary morning here in Los Angeles as I write this comment, but I love it. Even if I do need to turn my office light on.

    • Hi Lee and thanks so much for visiting. I love photography and I just (at Christmas!) got a new camera. I’m trying to get familiar with it so I can get some more photos like this. I love the morning light…I do a lot of sunrises and I love the sunsets. The light and the colors combined fascinates me. I love the A to Z!!!

  9. Those pictures are intriguing. The play of light and dark is one of the things I consider when I’m doing my more pensive photos.

And while broken cookies don’t count, The Count can count the broken cookies the Cookie Monster is eating. Had you thought of that?

    • Very funny…I had not thought of the Count and Cookie Monster! My title actually comes from an old Weight Watchers story I used to tell in my meetings. Glad you like my photos. I’m trying to get more into photography. I’ve always loved it. Thanks for stopping by!

  10. I am so happy it is starting to get light earlier in the morning. I still work out of the house 3 days a week. I leave at 6 am and get to witness the sunrise around 6:45. I’m not a great photographer but I find myself rather addicted to trying to capture the exact moment the sun rises. It is making those early mornings easier:)
Your photos are just lovely, all of them!
Best of luck with the rest of the challenge.

    • Thanks so much Doreen! I love sunrises and sunsets. That was my S post for last year’s challenge. Keep working at your photos, they’ll mean a lot to you. I think we always sort of underestimate our photographic skills. Thanks for visiting and please stop by again!

  11. Light makes photos gorgeous of course. I like that first one best.

  12. Yes, very atmospheric and eerie looking!

  13. Light is a good one. I love lights, the brighter the better.

  14. The lights are just gorgeous!

  15. Thanks for sharing your photos. I love the first one. The low light sets a mood that seems to really work. Keep enjoying your sunrises.
