If it was a regular Saturday morning, I would be going to and talking about my Weight Watchers meeting. But this is no ordinary Saturday.
At the time when I would usually be heading to my meeting, I will be helping to clean up our campsite from our night at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. With any luck, it will be a very different cleanup from last year. We had torrential rain last year, but the forecast is clear and cool. We hope have an enjoyable though emotional night. We hope to make new friends and strengthen old friendships. Hopefully we will be getting the tallies of the funds we’ve raised and we will have surpassed last year’s totals.
We’ll be there walking all night long. I’ll probably eat things I shouldn’t (I’ve already seen Ele’s snack bag!) We probably will have drunk too much coffee…is there such a thing?!
This isn’t my usual type of post, but I know I’ll be too tired when I get home to make any kind of sense at all. Sunday will be Ele’s birthday and we will be celebrating. I’ll also be giving you a recap of the Relay. It’s a wonderful event.
If you’ve lost someone to cancer, think about donating and think about joining us next year, either at our location in Mantua, NJ or follow the link and find a Relay For Life event in your area.
This is not an ordinary Saturday, but it always makes a difference.
Enjoy this beautiful day!
