WIAW~Without the ABC’s

Welcome to a regular plain old What I Ate Wednesday with no letters attached, just food.  Let’s see how I do without an Alphabet to support me.  Of course, all the fun is still directed and supported by the lovely Jenn at Peas & Crayons. When you’re finished here, be sure to visit P & C to get some great food ideas and leave some comments.  Let the fun begin!

Peas and Crayons

I like to be more orderly when I’m sharing my Food Fun with all of you, but as I look at my photos, not much excitement to be had.

There’s a breakfast…

Key lime pie yogurt (only 39 cents at Aldi!) very tasty.  My first time trying this flavor.  Yum.  Wish they had more flavors there.  Of course its little friend, the bowl of Fiber One (actually Aldi brand too) always tags along.  Very tasty and filling and can also do double duty as a quick lunch.  Actually…it’s good Any Time!

The last of my 2 months of free Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee.  I’m sad 😦  but I just got some more coupons.  2 coupons for 99 cents, but Free is still better! Hey, it’s Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.  Better get it while I can…I’ve never seen Dunkin’ in New Mexico!

I love a lunch that starts out as a quick pick up at the WaWa…

Veggie and dip pack from WaWa and cottage cheese from home (also Aldi-it’s everywhere!)

It became a very satisfying lunch…it really held me for quite a while.

Two dinners for you.  After my slashed finger last week, I hadn’t been doing a lot of chopping, not wanting to get my war wound wet.  I ate a lot of veggie burgers on buns.

So happy to have a salad again.  This one with home-made dressing again.  I’m not even sure what I put into this one.  Need to perfect that and start writing down what I use!  Added to it were 2 Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patties.   Such a great addition to a salad.  10 grams of protein each and only 3 Points each on Weight Watchers.  All tossed together in the Big Purple Bowl, Of Course!

A Wonderful veggie combo…onion, garlic, yellow bell pepper, zucchini, Portobello mushroom, tomatoes and broccoli.  Various spices (gotta remember to write those down!)  Very tasty.  It’s so good to get back to fresh veggies.  That reminds me…I think there needs to be a trip to the produce market planned into my day today.

That’s this week’s What I Ate Wednesday.  Please be sure to follow the link over to Peas & Crayons to check out everyone else’s goodies and leave some comments.  There’s always something interesting over there, and I always find new and interesting blogs to read.

Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing my new look with you.   Not the blog…Me!  Got new glasses yesterday (I look Very studious), but I need to do hair and makeup before I do a photo… 😉  Gotta look my best don’t I?!

Happy What I Ate Wednesday!

  1. ooo, i can’t wait to see your new look tomorrow, fran!
i am laughing because thanks to yesterday’s blogging, i totally know what type of grocery store aldi is, i am familiar with that flavour of yogurt, and i am happy you mention cereal!! (did you win a contest at dunkin donuts??).
    love your big purple bowl!
yes – it’s a bit of a letdown to not have a letter of the alphabet to guide our blogging!

    • No, Cathy…there was a coupon in the throw away mailer we get with supermarket ads. Every Monday March through April…free medium iced coffee! Was I happy…yess!! I had one in the fall. I used to just throw the adds into the recycling, but now I pay attention! Hey…Free coffe is free coffee~

  2. do yuo think bulla cottage cheese is too low in protein for the usage of cottage?

  3. ugh, i can’t believe i didn’t go look for that two-month coupon at my parents’ house. i do think i stole the next round, though.

can’t wait to see the new glasses!!!

  4. That salad looks so good! I haven’t had a good salad in ages.

About the Blog Me MAYbe: you can join anytime. I hope you do! It’s been a lot of fun already. 🙂

  5. I’ve been sick with the stomach flu for 3 days and haven’t eaten a salad since Saturday! I’ve been carbo loading, it’s the only thing that sounds good. Hopefully there will be a salad in my future today.

  6. You know it’s me right? I have WP issues. But Brutus loves your blog too:)

Yikes – I’ve been offline for a bit and seem to have missed a lot including a good chunk of the Alphard (which I’ll go back and catch up on) and the finger slash! I’d ask how you did it, but I’ll bet it will become clear as I catch up. Hope your finger is back in one piece soon…

    • Glad you’re back online, Val. Missed you. It was one of my stupid clumsy things. It was last Wednesday or Thursday. Forget which. It’s almost ready to come out from under the bandaid. It was fun typing for a while!

that would be alphabet. What on earth is an ‘alphard’??? Darn spell checker…

  9. Wow – free coffee? Major score! I always check out the coupons; there are often some great deals.

We don’t have Aldi’s here – looks like some great prices!

    • Hi Michelle! Aldi is great! Excellent store brand FF vanilla yogurt, low fat cottage cheese and a store brand of the original Fiberone that is half the price of Fiberone. Excellent. Other great things I can’t think of right now!

  10. I’ve never had key lime pie but that yoghurt sounds fab and your dinners always look so good, right up my street!
Two months’ free coffee was a winner – and looking forward to the new look 🙂

  11. Yum, both of your dinners look great – love all of the veggies! 🙂 Hope your finger is healing up quickly!

  12. A) Is that coffee balancing in your steering wheel?
    B) That salad looks incredible!

    • Yes, it’s an optical illusion. For whatever reason, I can get it to sit there. I’m not driving, it’s just there for the photo! 😉 Glad you like the salad. I’m a volume eater and the really big salads work for me!

  13. Two months of free coffee!? YUM! Your salad looks so good that my stomach is started to growl. 🙂

Hopping over from Peas and Crayons. Glad to have found your site!

  14. I’m excited to see these glasses (and general doing-up!). Ahh, I keep forgetting to go to Aldi, now that I live reasonably close! It’s just hard to convince myself to go anywhere other than Trader Joe’s, haha.

  15. Weighting For 50

Oh yum. That salad looks amazing. Hope you are having a great week Fran.

  16. Love your blog! And I am definitely a fan of key lime yogurt too! It’s the best!

  17. caloricandcrazy

I’ve been chewing on key lime gum…so that yogurt looks really appealing right now!!
