The Heart of the Matter

If I haven’t made it clear to all of you, I’d like to make a point today.  I am very lucky.  For over 20 years, I’ve had the joy and privilege to spend my days with a man named Ralph.

He is smart and witty, kind and generous, loving and considerate and his head is filled with almost as much useless information as mine (We’re an almost unbeatable team at Trivial Pursuit.  Does anyone still play Trivial Pursuit?!?)

He drives me crazy many days and I return the favor.  These days we spend almost too much time together, but yet, I can’t wait to hug him when he gets home from running an errand.  I guess you’d have to say that we really like each other…a lot…

But one of the most wonderful thing about Ralph is his art.  He’s a great artist and I’ve shared some of his creations in the form of our annual Christmas cards and some of the fun drawings he’s done.

I’ve gotten Valentine’s Day cards before that he’s embellished, but I think this one is just about the topper.  I wish my scanner was working, but these photos will give you an idea of what he’s done.  The thing that always amazes me about these drawings is Ralph’s ability to bring his humor and wit to what he draws.

It’s a little hard to see here.

It’s a little easier here.

Yes…that’s me.  I must confess…I’m Pookie Bear.

He’s a poet too, but please take note of the words he’s used… “scale” “pound” “weighting.”  All related to my Weight Watchers life style.

I’m standing on a scale in my “bear” feet, but the scale has a heart for the indicator.  He always gets the details except that my feet don’t look quite this good!

There was some candy involved, but I picked it out so that it wouldn’t be TOO big.  😉

Not sure  what the best part was…The Candy or The Card??

No, I know what the best part is…

Happy Valentine’s Day, Ralph!!
