Where Did It Go?

Sunday seems like a blur when I look back on it.  I hate when I have a day like that.

I slept until 7am which is like sleeping in for me.  I did a few things around the house , I went out with Ele in the afternoon and I don’t even think I ate until around 4pm. 

If you’ve been reading BCDC for a while you’ve heard me speak about needing to Focus and this is an example.  I don’t think I am mindful of the things I do.  You might say that this is due to the fact that I’m not working.  I found this happening to me even when I was working.  I would go through my day, doing my job but not being mindful of what I was doing.

I’m not sure where the cause of this lies, but I hope to work on that in this New Year.  I didn’t put Focus as one of my points to work on, but it truly needs to be one.  I didn’t include getting back to meditation, but again, that would help and should have been included.  If anyone has suggestions on how to do this, please share.

Runner (Jane Whitefield Series #6)

Runner by Thomas Perry.  I’ve read other books in this series and always enjoyed them.  I hadn’t realized there was a new novel, not so new, it was published in 2009!  Happy accident that I found it and it was only $5.99.  I’m enjoying it very much so far. I always like to have a good book when I go on a road trip so this will be a plus.  I haven’t mentioned lately what I’ve been reading.  Since I’m trying to read more, I will try to update you more regularly. 

You can check on what I’m reading by clicking on the Goodreads widget in the right hand column.  As usual, the widgets are not my friends.  I tried to use the one that shows the cover of the book I’m reading, but it doesn’t work.  The Book Challenge one does not seem to work either, but if you click on it, you’ll see where I stand on that as well.

Perhaps I am getting some focus into my life. We’ll see how that goes.

I’ll be leaving on my road trip Tuesday morning and arriving in Florida on Wednesday.  I may not be able to post although I’ll try.  I’ll update with Twitter and you can follow me @bcdcfran.

The moon was beautiful last night.  This is with the flash.

This is without the flash.  The moon looks blurred but there was actually a cloud that appeared to be coming out of the moon like a spark.  It was a pretty spectacular sight, but didn’t translate into the photo, unfortunately,

I have a lot of those annoying last-minute things to do today.  I hope I can remember everything I have to do.  Maybe I’ll make a List…Yes, A List!!  That should help!

  1. I am a total list maker. If it’s not written down, it probably won’t get done. I don’t think there is anything wrong with having a day (days) that go by and you wonder where they went. You were with your sister living life and having fun, there’s nothing wrong with that. Have a wonderful trip. And I am sure I would fail miserable at trying to install a widget to my blog. Maybe one of these days I’ll try.

  2. Even if it doesn’t help, making lists is a great way to procrastinate actually doing the listed things 🙂 A trip to Florida sounds fabulous, can’t wait to hear all about it! And I’ve added you on goodreads, I love that site.

    • Hey, Allie! I like the procrastination aspect of making the list, too! I wasn’t sure who you were when I got the friend request until I enlarged your photo. I LOVE Goodreads! Wish I could get more people I know to participate. I love it. Maybe we should nag Stephanie and Shell, they’d be good for it!

  3. It’s hard to keep focused because we have so much to do, and I have to write myself notes, and I still forget.

  4. I need to work on my focus as well! I have to create a schedule for myself so that I can use my time to do all of the cool stuff that I want to do. 🙂

    Focus is definitely an issue for me too! So easy to get caught up in things that don’t deserve the attention and pulled away from those that do!

  6. Good luck on getting focused. It might help to make a list of some things you want to get done daily, weekly, monthly etc to help refocus 🙂
