Free Is Good

I took Saturday as sort of a free day.  After posting on BCDC yesterday, I started on my NaNoWriMo work. I got about 700 words done and I really intended to get back to it, but things didn’t work out that way.  I’m not concerned about it.  I think it was a good thing for me to get away from it for a bit.  I think when I get back to it today, my mind will be a little more focused.  I was starting to feel like my mind was drifting a bit.

Ralph had an errand he wanted to run and we needed to think about getting something to eat.  I suddenly remembered that we had these…

Gift cards from Wawa!!  Free lunch sounded good to both of us!  We headed off on our errand which was to A.C. Moore, the craft store.  Ralph was in search of some charcoal for art work.  I was surprised that it was not swamped.  I mentioned to Ralph that if we came there in another week or two, you wouldn’t be able to get in the parking lot let alone the store.  It’s one of those places that gets really crazy as the Christmas season progresses.  I didn’t buy anything.  I did get to play search and destroy though because it appears that they’ve moved Everything in the store.  Just in time to make the Christmas shoppers crazier that they already are!

We finally get to have lunch.  Ralph got his favorite the Gobbler.  I got my new favorite that I created last week.

It is pepper jack cheese toasted on the bun first.  Then spinach,  tomatoes and roasted red peppers. It is SO GOOD.  It actually kept me satisfied for the rest of the day.  definitely worth the Points!

Later in the afternoon I headed over to Gail’s for a marathon of The Good Wife.

We all love the show.  It’s funny and interesting with lots of twists.  I think we watched 4 episodes.  I know that all the plots were swirling in my head when we were finished.  It’s interesting that now that I’m writing, I look at TV shows in a different way.  I seem to be looking for how they introduce characters and put in plot twists.  I’ve learned a lot through this process and I hope I continue to learn.

Gail, Alice and I are off to the Christmas Tree Shop this morning.  We’ll see if we come home with any treasures.  We’re going early in an effort to avoid the crowds.  I hate crowds.  Then this afternoon it’s time for NaNoWriMo to enter the scene!

Happy Sunday!

  1. The Christmas Tree Shop is definitely one of those places where I end up getting so much more than I thought I would (or told myself I would).
I’m planning an early morning (well 9ish) supermarket run today in the hopes of avoiding massive Thanksgiving crowds.

    • Early is good, Zo. I love the Christmas Tree shop for all of the interesting food choices they have. I’m looking for tea. I saw Bigelow on sale there last week and I’m hoping the new flavor I found this week is among the sale ones. Good luck at the supermarket!

  2. I love how you can make your own sandwiches at wawa!

    Thanks for sharing 🙂

  3. I love how you can make your own sandwich creation at Wawa!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday 🙂

  4. I love having marathon TV sessions. JP and I will get utterly obsessed with a show, and spend an entire weekend watching 10 or 15 episodes. It’s insanity.

    • Stephanie, we love doing it! We’ve got to catch up on Blue Bloods so that will be the next one. Ralph and I have the habit of watching movies on the days they relate to. We watch “1776” and “Independance Day” near July4. We should be watching “JFK” sometime this week. Then of course the Christmas movies at Christmas. It’s fun!

  5. There’s definitely no point in trying to write when you’re not in the frame of mind to do it!

Christmas Tree shopping is a perfect thing to do this time of year – it’s never too early to get organised for the holidays 🙂

    • Hi Alissa! Yes you’re right, if your mind isn’t in your writing, you’re just waisting your time. The day off helped me to focus and I did better on Sunday. The Christmas Tree shop is so good because the have a terrific variety and very good prices. Thanks for visiting, please come back often!
