Sunday was my best friend, Gail’s birthday. We have a long-standing joke that she will call me on my birthday to tell me I’m old. I’m six weeks older than she is so she thinks she can taunt me for six weeks…and she does. Now it’s time for some taunting from me!
Morning for me started with another of the Spiru-tein samples which I got last week.
Cookies and cream this time and again, tastier than I expected it to be. Made according to the directions, adding 1 cup of soymilk, it’s a little thick for me. I think from now on when I make it I’m going to add some water. I don’t want to add anymore milk, it will raise the Point value. I’ll experiment the next time I try one.
I have a bad habit of finding the perfect birthday card for someone early, putting it away and forgetting where it is! I recently found one of those card that I had bought for Gail. It was so funny, I wanted to share it.
In case you’re having a hard time reading it, it says “If it’s got a candle stuck in it, The calories don’t count.” I thought that was very appropriate for BCDC. She loved it and then started to mention all of her favorite foods which she now intends to stick a candle in!
For our first celebration of Gail’s birthday,(there will be more!) we decided to go to the movies. I don’t go to the movies very often anymore. We had decided we wanted to see “Anonymous.” Gail, Alice and I all wanted to see it and we were concerned it might leave the theatres quickly so we didn’t want to miss it. It was one of the best movies ever! The story was so clever and intriguing and it drew you in. The costumes were incredible. I can’t believe it was directed by the same man who did “Independence Day.” Also one of my favorite movies, just so very different. If you enjoy historical movies, this is well worth the effort.
I forgot to document our lunch at Moe’s and perhaps it’s for the best. I had a quesadilla with cheese, black beans, onions, peppers and black olives. It was really good, but I had left my purse in the car with my camera. I did not eat any of the chips, I passed them off to the Birthday Girl and her assistant. Speaking of chips, I’ve forgotten to mention that as of November 9, it has been 8 months since I’ve had chips. I’m proud of myself for that. I know it’s making a difference in my weight maintenance.
I’m quite proud of myself regarding my NaNoWriMo writing. I hit and passed 25,000 words today which means I’m halfway to my goal. I’m pretty excited about it and at the moment things are going smoothly. I’m really enjoying the process. I wasn’t sure at first, but this is fun.
I’ll leave you with a few photos. I couldn’t believe how strange and beautiful the sunset was on Sunday evening.
