After exercising yesterday, I was ready for a good breakfast. This was the result…
Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt, Fiber One, blueberries and strawberries. It was yummy. I love this combo because it’s both tasty and filling. I noted that my fruit supply was getting dangerously low so a visit to the fruit stand needs to be on the agenda.
The heat here is really starting to get to me. I think it especially irritates me because I know that if I was in New Mexico the temperature could be the same (I think they said 94 yesterday) but it would be so much more pleasant. That alone is reason enough to get ourselves going and out there. It needs to happen. Today is likely to be even hotter, the forecast is I think 97. What a joy! 😦 Not sure what the humidity will be and that’s the worst part. I’m planning on an indoor day as much as possible. Certainly have things that will occupy me. Appreciate the cool.
For some reason I was hungry all day yesterday, but I kept myself under control I had a big bowl of cantaloupe and apple for lunch. Too hot for anything heavy. Later in the afternoon I had some rice cakes, but only 2 Points worth so no damage done.
Dinner was a salad for Ralph and time for me to bring out the Big Purple Bowl. Fill ‘er up with lots of romaine. I had to use it all because it was getting to the end of goodness (another indication I need to hit the produce stand!) There was enough for both of us to have a nice substantial salad. What more could we ask??
Added to the romaine were MorningStar Farms Grillers California Turk’y Burgers. MorningStar Farms burgers have been hard to come by lately which is why I’m using so many of the Turk’y ones. That’s all I’ve been finding lately. 😦 Also added sunflower seeds (finally found unsalted ones again!!) and reduced fat shredded cheese. All topped with Ken’s Lite Balsamic and Basil Vinaigrette. I was very hungry at that point and it was delicious. I love my Big Purple Bowl…it’s so big it makes me a salad that will keep me satisfied for the night. Excellent!! 🙂
Put a batch of black beans in to soak last night and this morning they made their way to the crock pot…I’m so excited!! I love having the beans in the fridge ready and waiting for me to work my magic with them. Hmmm…magic beans…Jack and the Beanstalk…Fran and the Beanstalk…hmmm…sounds like it could be a children’s story. Opps…there I go getting carried away. But I AM excited about my beans! Can you tell?!?
Had an interesting experience this morning that I’ll share with you all tomorrow. I’m off to have some breakfast, get a shower and start the day. As hot as it’s planning on being, I should probably wait to shower until tonight after I’ve been hot all day. It could happen!
