This is rather exciting for me. I’ve only been blogging since December and I’ve been trying to build up readership. Some months back my friend Kristen told me about BlogHer which is a community of women working in social media. I then found out about NaBloPoMo.
With NaBloPoMo, bloggers pledge to write every day for a month. Don’t skip a day or you’re out! Kind of like when I was trying to meditate 40 days in a row…if I’d missed a day I’d have to start over. In this case, if you miss a day you have to start again the next month.
Each month there is a theme and a little badge you can add to your blog. For July it’s SWIM!!
I’m posting it here because I have not yet been able to figure out how to get things like this to appear on my blog through Word Press. If any one is reading this and knows how, please leave a comment because my brain is exhausted on how to get this to work. I’ll keep working on it because I have to figure it out at some point.
You can post to the NaBloPoMo site each day and that can help to expand your readership. This is going to be fun!
I’ve been very good about posting almost every day since I started BCDC. I even posted almost every day through all of what has been going on the past few months and vacation. So I’m thinking I can make this commitment work.
Went shopping yesterday because I was out of fruit and I’d been encouraged by Ele and Gail to shop at Aldi’s more often. They do have good prices, but sometimes they don’t always have what I need. I was able to get some good-looking blueberries, a cantaloupe and a pineapple. They were all reasonably priced.
My greatest find was this…
A pineapple slicer!! I’ve seen them at various stores for about $20. This baby was only $4.99!! I was so excited! I’m looking forward to doing surgery on my pineapple later today. I’ll let you know how it goes! 🙂
Ele asked me to go for a walk with her again yesterday and we headed back to the park. I realized that yesterday I didn’t actually show the walking trail, so here it is…
The outer trail, near the river.
Views of the river from the inner trail. It’s just beautiful!! It’s worth walking just to see the sights!
I needed to get an early dinner last night. I had to stop eating by 8pm because I’m having blood work this morning. Decided on a salad. I cooked 2 of my favorite veggie burgers, Morningstar Farms Tomato & Basil Pizza Burgers in the toaster oven and gathered up a quick combo of spring mix, tomatoes and green and red bell peppers.
I can’t get over how fresh the greens stay in this big container I got at Sam’s. It’s been nearly 2 weeks and they are still perfect! There’s at least one more serving in there. It tastes so good too.
I made my deadline and even got a snack in before 8pm! I don’t really feel hungry at the moment but I could certainly use some coffee. At least I’m still able to drink water.
I’ll leave you with one more shot from the park, one of the Whitall House.
I like this one especially. It looks like it’s hiding.
Off to prepare to be stabbed…er…have blood work done! Then I MUST have Coffee!!!
