Some days are just like that. For some reason, I started out the day thinking it was Wednesday. That’s ok, I guess, because Ralph thought it was Friday! I guess we’re matched in our confusion, just in different directions!
I started out the day well with my Greek yogurt and Fiber One.
After my yogurt, I ate a banana. I’m trying to like them. I think my issue is I like them best when they’re not too ripe. This one was a little green on the outside, but just about right for me on the inside. This batch that I got at Verchio’s were rather small too, which I liked. I’ll probably add another to todays breakfast.
One of the fun things that has turned up over the past few weeks are bird nests! We seem to have several birds who think our rain spouts look comfy to build a home.
This one is on the corner of the house near the back door. If you look closely, you can see the mama bird sitting on the nest. We think it’s a robin, but we only ever see her from behind, her face is away from us and we don’t want to get too close to disturb her.
This one has actually been in this spot before. It’s on the side of the house near my leaded glass window. It’s neat because when we’re inside, you can see the mama bird flying past the window to go to the nest! 🙂
That window has kind a cool story associated with it. When my Grandmother lived in this house, she had an air conditioner built into the wall. When I had central air conditioning installed, I needed to have the wall unit removed but I would have been left with a hole and I didn’t want to just board it up. Ralph had a leaded glass window built to fit and installed for me. It it one of the best presents he’s ever given me. When we move to New Mexico, I’m going to have it removed and replaced with regular glass so the window can go with us!
Dinner was pretty much a repeat of Wednesday night…see, by then, I knew Wednesday from Thursday! 😉
Spinach ( all gone now 😦 ), Romaine, red and green bell pepper, black beans and my fancy (yeah, sure!) homemade balsamic vinaigrette.
Again with saltines and it was yummy!
I had an orange for a snack and some cheese. Don’t know why I ate the cheese, I didn’t really need it. 😦 Bring back the Tootsie Pop!! But I feel that over all I was on track.
Waiting for me for breakfast I have overnight oats. My friend Kristen had originally told me about overnight oats last year and I had made them a few times when I was still working. It was something I could take to have my breakfast with me when I got to work. I used to microwave them, but I don’t actually think you’re supposed to do that.
I combined 1/2 cup of oats with 1 tbsp of chia seeds, 1 tbsp of ground flax-seed and cinnamon. Then I mixed in 1 cup of almond milk. I’ll probably add some Splenda when I eat it. I know there are other versions of the overnight oats. I’ll have to do some research to get some alternatives. My problem is…I need to remember to put it together the night before! 😉
I’m happy to say that I did 1000 steps more on Thursday than on Wednesday. 11,106!!! I feel compelled to take a photo of my pedometer, but I think you believe me…I wouldn’t lie…you don’t need a photo of my pedometer every day, do you???
I guess I’m just proud of myself! Off to eat my overnight oats!
