On The Right Road

Ralph and I headed out Tuesday morning to pay the taxes on his house.  It was a beautiful day and perfect for a road trip.  He decided to take an alternate route and we ended up on a very scenic road that took us nowhere near where we needed to be!!

We eventually got to where we needed to be and as we rode to the township hall, we passed a Subway.  We decided we’d stop there on our way back.  It was funny that after seeing recent commercials, I have been talking for about a week that I haven’t had Subway in a while and I’d like to.

I got my favorite, the Veggie Delite.  I got it on the 9-Grain honey oat bread.  I asked for provolone cheese, but got American Cheese, spinach, tomato, green peppers, sweet peppers, black olives and chipotle sauce.  It was really tasty and worth the wait. 🙂

We stopped at a little produce stand on the way home.  Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name.  We got spinach and artisan lettuces, broccoli ,radishes and corn.

Ralph had recently said he wants to try to eat more healthy and we decided that salads would be a good idea.  He was so happy with how I made it.  He said ” I know this sounds strange, but I think you should take a picture of MY salad too!”  I was shocked…Ralph’s Salad!!

His had spinach, fancy lettuce, tomatoes, radishes and tuna.  He Loved it!

I used spinach, fancy lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, sunflower seeds and my own version of a balsamic vinaigrette.  I added some Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning.

I ate it with just some saltines and it was delicious and filling.

I kept up with my 45 minutes on my exercise in the morning and added about 20 minutes of marching while I watched Glee.

I got my steps up to 7908 for the day.  Experts say you should do 10,000 for the day to get the best effects of it.  I used to be able to do that easily when I was working because I always did the steps and I did a lot of walking in general.  I seem to have to work a little harder now.  That’s my goal, to get back to the 10,000 steps a day.  We’ll see… 😉

I felt like a snack in the evening and since Gail had shared a few apples yesterday, this was my snack…

An apple and a Tootsie Pop.  Sadly, I did not actually eat this Tootsie Pop.  I found it in a drawer while cleaning things out.  It was Pineapple.  It was a specialty one that they don’t make all the time…it was old and really disgusting when I opened it… 😦  I broke into my stash of Lemon-Lime which are also hard to come by.  I even e-mailed Tootsie about it.  They said they’re only available at Costco.  Guess I’m going to have to join Costco!! 😉

I feel like I kept to my plan yesterday.  It’s another beautiful day today.  Let’s see what will come of it! 🙂

Happy Wednesday!!
