As a way to celebrate Ralph’s birthday together, his sister Maddie and her husband George invited us to a good old-fashioned church social. We thought it was a great idea! We love spending time with them. 🙂
Maddie and the Birthday Boy…Do you think she likes him a little bit? 😉

Trying to get creative…since it was a BYOB, Ralph brought his collection of tiny bottles.
The centerpiece on our table which we eventually won because Ralph had the closest birthday!
Maddie and Me! I’m getting better at this take your own picture thing! I just love Maddie. I’m so lucky to have her as my sister-in-law! 🙂
The food was good…the usual fare…baked ziti and green beans for me. Several times lately, I’ve encountered very kind people in buffet lines who load me up with green beans and things when I say I don’t eat meat. It’s very nice. Ralph even thanked the young man after he did it.
Getting home from the social was quite a challenge. Our area was part of that terrible storm system. There was heavy rain getting there and torrential rain when we were leaving. Top it off with the fact that we were in an area that is notorious for flooding. We traveled in several directions and kept heading into flooded streets. We eventually had to travel about 5 miles in a totally different direction from home in order to get to a road that wasn’t flooded. We got home safely, but it was scary. 😦
I woke up this morning to this crazy/scary sky…
It seems to be clearing out there now. Ralph and I have a road trip today. We have to travel south of here to find a place where he will be giving a presentation Tuesday on drawing. It’s supposed to be video taped and we’re hoping it will lead to something he’s been hoping to do for a long time. Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned. Good things are happening. 😉
Happy Palm Sunday. It should be a beautiful day!
