The Big and the Small of it All

After TERRIBLE  traffic on I-76 on our way to Oaks, Pa which took 2 and 1/2 hours instead of the usual 50 minutes, we arrived at the Sugarloaf Craft Festival. For whatever reason I didn’t take any pictures there! Duh!!! 😦

We met up with our friend Leigh who sells her jewelry there and after some chatting we went off to grab a snack and look at all the treasures.  My snack was a huge soft pretzel and a Diet Pepsi.  After we finished, we started our tour.

We ran into our friends, Davide Jagger and his mom, Mary.  I have bought jewelry from Davide before and over the years of visiting Sugarloaf, we have gotten to know them. We were enjoying talking and I wasn’t really looking at jewelry at the moment when Ralph came over and said “I’m buying you this.”

It’s beautiful!  I looks like a prayer box, but it isn’t.  It has moons and stars and the dangling bits have amethyst, garnet and Peridot beads.  I love it!

Ralph also got me the tiniest dragonfly I’ve ever seen…

It’s made of glass and the detail is amazing, but sadly you can’t see it in the photo.  It’s just too adorable! 🙂

We went to dinner with Leigh at Bob Evans.  I had a big salad with balsamic vinaigrette which was tasty.  I was glad I could get something light because I had something in mind for later.  I knew we wouldn’t have dessert at the restaurant.

After more crazy traffic getting home, we decided to stop at the local WaWa.  Since it was Saturday and I like to give myself a treat on Saturdays after weighing in, I knew what I wanted…an apple fritter.

No, wait, we need something to show the scale of this thing…

That’s my cell phone DWARFED by this thing!  Well, my motto is if you’re going to have a treat, have a TREAT!!  It was very good.  I’ve had them before but try not to have them very often.  (For obvious reasons!!)  I’m planning on a very structured, in control, successful week.  I just needed to let my hair down a little before that! 😉

So now, I have to go make a BIG salad.  We’re going to Ele’s house to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!  She likes to make corned beef and cabbage for Ralph and she makes sure to do it every year which he appreciates.  She’s making macaroni and cheese for me.  That’s why I need the big salad…I have to fill up on that first before I have the mac & cheese.  It worked a few weeks back with the pizza, so I’m hoping it works today. Our cousin, LuAnn is coming too and we’re really excited about that.

So I’m having a good day so far…Chobani was on sale!!  That’s a good way to start the week.  It’s beautiful and sunny here, so everyone have a wonderful Sunday! (Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Again!! 😉  )

  1. It really looked like an unsatisfying, tiny fritter at first sight. Hilarious comparison, though. It looks like a great Saturday treat! Happy St. Paddy’s Day, Take Two!
