How many What I Ate Wednesday posts have I written now? I could find out but that would take me using my head which those of you who have been reading BCDC know…that’s not my strong suite at the moment. But never let it be said that I’ll let a WIAW go by without at least making an attempt! Of course WIAW is the amazing Food Fantasmagore (is that a word? It is now!) which is the brain child of the ever lovely Jenn at Peas & Crayons. When you’re finished here, be sure to make your way to P&C to read and comment and drool. So Here Goes!
I did some of this week…
Birthday cake of course!
And some of this…
More Happy Birthday cake, Ice Cream this time. This was particularly yummy!
When I started feeling better I got back to the wonders of the Big Purple Bowl…Salad of course.
All the fixings including home-made dressing.
Realized I forgot to put the dressing on before taking the photo…well, it tasted good once I did!!
After taking care of some business on Tuesday afternoon, Ralph and I headed to a place we had tried before. Danny’s Pizza Pizazz! We loved it then and we loved it again. Hey, that’s poetic!
This is one of their low-carb wrap selections. Portobello mushrooms, tomato, provolone cheese, balsamic vinaigrette and romaine lettuce on a tomato wrap. It was SO good, just as the veggie wrap was the last time there. Ralph had a Stromboli special. His was so big he had to bring half home. Of course, he got custody of the bag of chips!
It’s a shame that Danny’s isn’t closer because we would definitely go there more often. There are lots of veggie options for me on the menu and Ralph can always find something he likes. They offer lots of daily specials, but unfortunately, I don’t know what they are. Check their website for their regular menu, though. You won’t be disappointed!
So that WIAW from my perspective. It finally stopped raining, but I know that’s not going to last. I can just feel it. Be sure to go over to Peas&Crayons, look around, leave a comment or two and Enjoy! I always do!
Happy What I Ate Wednesday!!!

any time you can begin with two celebration cakes, it is a worthwhile recap post, fran! and danny’s pizza sounds awesome – great that they have (delicious) veggie options for you!
hope you continue to feel better today! we may get rain, too…
It looks like it’s been raining all night, Cathy! Growing webbed toes just in case!!
happy what i ate wednesday!
that wrap looks yummy. I discovered that at one of my favorite pizza places (Vesuvio’s), you can request any sandwich as a wrap. my favorite, just-slightly-healthier one is eggplant parm! it doesn’t sound like a good idea, but it’s awesome. all eggplanty goodness without getting full on bread. :p
I love the sound of an eggplant parm wrap! Probably messy but who cares! Where is Vesuvio’s? Sounds familiar. Happy WIAW!!
Happy WIAW Fran! I love ice cream cake.
Hi Jennifer, I’m not usually a fan of it…like my ice cream pure
but this was delicious!
Hi my friend, I have nominated you for the One lovely blog award! Stop by my blog to see the rules
Have a good day!
Thanks, Catalina! What a sweetie you are. I’ll stop by!
You have no idea how much I want that mushroom wrap right now! I wish I was nearby!
I wish you were too, Joann! The place is about 30 minutes from us but we go there every few months to pay some bills in that area and stop by. It’s worth the wait!
I am always a fan of a post when the first picture is of birthday cake
it all looks delicious!
Thank you! I’m glad I could start with your favorite!
You attend more birthday celebrations than anyone I know. You must have lots of friends and be very loved
That’s sweet, Marie. In truth we like to celebrate, then celebrate again for the same person. Ele’s birthday is actually this coming Sunday…so we’ll be celebrating again!!
I love ice cream cake – especially for those little crunchies in the middle!
You’re so right! The crunchy bits are the best!
I haven’t had an ice cream cake in at least a year, but can you guess how much I want one right now?
Dana, it’s funny, before Ele cut the cake, I was thinking to myself “I’m not a fan of ice cream cake.” As with everything, our tastes change…it was SO Good…especially the cruchy part!
Starting a post with cake is ALWAYS a good and positive thing Fran! happy WIAW
Thanks, Tessa! Happy WIAW to you too!
I think that might be the most cheerful looking cake I’ve ever seen. I would love a giant version to jump in- that would be immense fun! The wrap looks good too, but given the choice of being able to put my fork through the screen here, I would be eating your salad
Glad you like my goodies, Lisa! I just love my salads and I was So excited when I found my Big Purple Bowl. I’m a volume eater and love Huge salads. It works perfectly to make a really big salad which keeps me satisfied for the eveing! Please, dive through the screen and join me!!
