Saturday was the date for what has become a tradition for us over the past few years. The Rock A Hula Party!
Our nephew Patrick and his wife, Carrie host the party in memory of Patrick’s Mom, Cheryl who passed away several years ago. In May I wrote about the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and explained Why I Walk. Our team for the Walk is Elvis In The Attic, hence the Rock A Hula party because of Cheryl’s love for Elvis.
So I now present… Elvis!!
…And his little Hula friend…
I didn’t do as good a job as I would have liked of getting photos of the people, but I got a LOT of pictures of the food, because I must confess I ate a LOT!
The pasta salad I made, revealed!! It was very tasty. I got several compliments on it!
My plate, a portabella mushroom burger with spicy brown mustard that was very yummy, Diann’s tasty potato salad and some of my pasta salad. Nothing wrong with this plate except that it was my second one!! I said it was because I forgot to get a photo of the first one. Kristen said that was one of the most creative reasons she had heard for having a second helping…I thought it made sense…
Problem was, I didn’t stop with lunch. I didn’t know there would be so many delicious desserts there…
A yummy cannoli
Yummy crumb cake
Ele’s yummy bars that tasted like peanut butter cups. I need this recipe. It must have 100 Points and I want to try to lighten it up…fat chance!!
There were people at the party too.
Little Michael with Uncle Ralph…Patti smiling in the background.
Brian and Heather, expecting their first baby in January…in 2 weeks we find out if it’s a him or a her!!
Little Michael with Uncle Jim!
Kristen taking my picture, taking her picture…etc…etc…
Our niece Marie and little Jesse!! He wouldn’t hold still!!
The whole Elvis In The Attic team…Kristen, Ele, Terri, Diann, Little Michael, Elvis, Me, Carrie, Brian and Heather. Sadly, Lisa was missing but she was there in spirit.
Before it started to rain I looked up into the tall pine trees where we were sitting. I thought it was so pretty I decided to take a photo hoping it would turn out.
I like it!!
Sunday morning and it’s Pouring rain out!! I hope it slows down. We’re scheduled to meet Ele, Jim and Little Michael for breakfast and I’d rather not get soaked. Then later we have an engagement party to go to for which I’d also rather not get soaked. We’ll see how it all goes. The Rock A Hula was Wonderful as usual!
Happy (Rainy) Sunday!!

Oooh…those peanut butter bars look gooooood! I’m a sucker for chocolate and peanut butter. It’s like my kryptonite.
They were amazing, Stephanie! I have to get the recipe from Ele, then I’ll try to lighten them up a bit, then I’ll post it!! They were just incredible. My sweet sister is an amazing baker!!
And nice to know that there are no calories in those desserts because I know you broke them up so they didn’t count
Glad you found me – and glad I found you back!

Thanks, Ashleigh! Very glad you found BCDC. I try to have fun here. From what I’ve read so far of your posts, you’re my kind of Gal!!
too many delicious desserts! but we had a great time.
We had a WONDERFUL time!! So glad Paul was able to join in the fun!
since the peanut butter bars have oatmeal in them you can pretend that they are good for you!
I think they are healthy because they made me happy!! Just can’t eat them TOO often.
and did you get rained on??
Just at the end of the Hula party. It was just a soft shower, but it was about time to close down the party so we cleaned up and headed home. Sunday was another story !! It was awful here!!
